Fredrik Johansson

Fredrik Johansson is Professor in Rock Mechanics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where he is also Deputy Head of Department for Civil and Architectural Engineeering. In his position, he has the least ten years performed research on several topics. Examples are reliability based desing of rock support, implementation of reliability based design in stability analyses of conrete dams, peak shear strength of rock joints and concrete-rock interfaces, grouting and the design of grout curtains as well as rock scour. Beetween the years 1994 to 2022, he also worked part time as a technical consultant, where he has gained practical experiences on tunneling and dam safety. Fredrik was during ten years (from 2013 to 2023) president for the Swedish National Group of Rock Mechanics and received 2020 the ISRM Franklin Lecture Award for his significant contribution in the field of rock mechanics.
